Camping in Leifers

Families can cool off at Lake Kaltern, the largest bathing lake in South Tyrol, which is just 20 kilometres from the campsite in Laives. Active holidaymakers can cycle from the campsite in Laives along the Adige cycle path to Bolzano or to Merano, 36 km away. The sights in Bolzano are just 20 minutes away by car.

Best time to visit

Thanks to its location on the southern side of the Alps, Laives enjoys a pleasant climate with a Mediterranean influence. Nature lovers are drawn to South Tyrol in spring, when the thousands of apple trees around Laives transform the landscape into a sea of pink and white blossom.

With around 200 days of sunshine a year, the weather in Laives/Leifers is mostly favourable. The sun shines most frequently from May to September. In the high season in July and August, temperatures rise to 30 degrees and above. During the apple harvest in September, the weather is ideal for cycling and hiking with temperatures between 12 and 24 degrees.
