with trusted ADAC classificationCaorle is rightly nicknamed the "Pearl of the Upper Adriatic" and is also known as "Little Venice" due to its narrow streets and proximity to the lagoon city. The 2,000-year-old town at the mouth of the Livenza is home to cultural treasures such as the Romanesque cathedral with its tall bell tower. The kilometre-long sandy beach is popular with families and active holidaymakers who enjoy the extensive range of water sports on offer.
Whether guests want to relax or be active at the 4-star campsite in Caorle, the town and region leave nothing to be desired. The well-developed network of cycle paths is also a delight.
The Caorle coastline boasts around 20 kilometres of beaches up to 300 metres wide, which have been awarded the Blue Flag for their excellent water quality. The green flag also flies here, which recognises particularly family-friendly stretches of coastline. The Levante beach in the east stretches from the old town to Falconcera, while the Ponente beach stretches from the centre westwards to the mouth of the Livenza river. For families with young and older children, we recommend a day at the Aquafollie water park with its many slides, water games and a wave pool. The gently sloping shore is not only a great place to splash around and build sandcastles, but also offers attractive activities for water sports enthusiasts. Those hungry for exercise can test their balance with stand-up paddling or Venetian rowing. Athletes stand in the typical Caorline boat, which has an absolutely symmetrical cut. Especially when the south wind Scirocco sweeps across the lagoon, you can see countless surfers on the sea.
With your own or a hire bike, you can set off directly from the 4-star campsite in Caorle on the well-developed network of paths along the coast and in the fascinating hinterland. A 14 km tour, for example, leads through the centre and along the banks of the lagoon. Cyclists can take a trip back in time on the 50-kilometre tour to Concordia Sagittaria, which was already inhabited in Roman times. A visit to the archaeological museum in the magnificent Palazzo Municipale will give you an impression of the town's eventful history, while those who prefer walking can take part in guided Nordic walking tours on the beach in summer. Aerobics and yoga classes are also held regularly during the high season right by the sea.
The varied events in Caorle offer highlights for families and gourmets alike.
