  • The Bunculuka Camping Resort is an award-winning naturist campsite on Krk, stretching along a 1,800 metre long pebble beach between acacia and pine forests. It is best to park your caravan at the very beginning of the terraced area to enjoy the most marvellous sunsets.
  • The island of Krk is known for its excellent white wine Bela Zlahtina. You can taste this wine in the winery at the entrance to Vrbnik, for example. Other typical island specialities include freshly caught fish, freshly pressed olive oil, seafood and cevapcici.
  • If you want to enjoy a particularly marvellous view, it is best to visit the 380m high Mjeseca plateau. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Velebit coastal mountain range and the island of Rab.

Fascinating world beneath the surface of the sea

Krk is known for its many fantastic diving spots. Mysterious wrecks, pirate treasures and colourful flora and fauna are hidden beneath the surface of the water. The highly recommended diving centre Rare Bird offers courses for beginners and advanced divers. Holidaymakers can also hire catamarans and kayaks. Courses and dives are also offered at the Neptun diving centre on the small sandy bay of Silo.

Experience marvellous coastal hikes

The island is the ideal place for a romantic coastal walk. A particularly beautiful path leads from Nijvice along the coast. You can take a break and refresh yourself at a small sandy bay before continuing on. The hike is a little steep in places, but you will also be rewarded with breathtaking views.

Discover the historic town of Krk

The town of Krk is home to numerous traces of antiquity and the Middle Ages. For example, visit the Crkva Sv. Kvirina, which is well worth seeing. The church dates back to the Middle Ages and was built in the Romanesque style. It houses sacred art, including a gilded altarpiece from the 15th century. Take a walk to the harbour and admire the old city gate of Krk. Other sights in the town include the Frankopan castle from the 12th/13th century and a Roman mosaic from the 2nd century.

  • Black Sheep: This festival is held once a year in Baska. Experience a weekend full of diverse events. Concerts, balloon rides, delicious Baska lamb and excellent wine await you.

August

  • Krk Fair: This three-day market was first held in the Middle Ages. Over 200 stalls offer numerous products such as clothing, fruit, spices and much more. The inhabitants of Krk wear medieval clothing and concerts are organised.
  • Fishing festival in Baska: The fishing festival takes place on the second Sunday in August. The highlight is the race to pull fishing nets onto the beach.

September

  • Folk Art Festival: Numerous folk art groups from the island of Krk take part in this event in the coastal town of Baska. The festival aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the region.
