Lake Brombachsee is the perfect place for an active and relaxing holiday in Middle Franconia. In the summer months, it is just a short walk from the campsites to the beaches, which offer something for everyone with sunbathing lawns and stretches of sand. Walks along the shore are a wonderful way to switch off from everyday life. Cycling tours on the 28 km long circular path along the shore with its flat route are also great fun on a family holiday.

The Großer Brombachsee in the heart of the Franconian Lake District is one of the region's main attractions and a wonderful place for a camping holiday in the south of Central Franconia. The reservoir offers great sandy beaches, playgrounds and lots of leisure activities in a beautiful landscape. It is therefore particularly popular with holidaymakers who go camping with the whole family. Surfers, sailors and other water sports enthusiasts also get their money's worth at Lake Brombach. Active holidaymakers can explore the Franconian Lake District on numerous well-developed cycling and hiking trails.
The Großer Brombachsee, together with the two reservoirs Kleiner Brombachsee and Igelsbachsee, forms the largest reservoir in the Franconian Lake District and is the centrepiece of the holiday region. The man-made reservoir is a popular destination for camping fans far beyond the region's borders. In 2017, it was even voted "Germany's favourite lake". Camping by the lake is becoming increasingly popular and Lake Brombach is an ideal destination for this: many of the** campsites are located directly on the shore**, so that guests of all ages only need to take a few steps to get into the refreshing water. There is also a first-class infrastructure, especially around the recreational resorts of Gunzenhausen Absberg and Pleinfeld. Here you will find children's playgrounds, restaurants and fishing spots. Boat trips on the three-hulled ship "MS Brombachsee", which docks at all the larger towns around the lake, are also particularly popular. June to August is the best time of year for bathing, swimming and relaxing at the campsite. It is advisable to book the campsites in good time. The Brombachsee is also very popular with campers with four-legged friends: there are several dog beaches in the area, for example on the Absberg bathing peninsula. ## Popular campsites on the Brombachsee The campsites on the Brombachsee are excellently equipped and offer pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. In addition to pitches, some also offer rental accommodation, bungalows and mobile homes. If you are travelling by motorhome, there are several motorhome harbours to choose from.
Camping in an idyllic location directly on the shores of the small Brombachsee lake is promised by the fantastic Seecamping Langlau campsite. The bathing beach is right on the doorstep, and there is also a bread roll service, caravans for hire and the popular camping barrels for a special kind of camping holiday. A great place to relax!
The beautiful Brombach forest campsite is located about one kilometre from the shore of the lake. The spacious site in beautiful surroundings is particularly popular with families thanks to the children's entertainment and large playground. A beautiful footpath leads through the forest to the lake. Dogs are welcome on the site.
Campers who really want to be close to nature are best served by Zeltwiese Absberg. The huge campsite on the Absberg bathing peninsula offers plenty of open space in beautiful surroundings, a great sandy beach and many leisure activities, such as a wakeboard facility and SUP hire. A kiosk, bread roll service and sanitary facilities round off the offer.
The Brombachsee reservoir alone is an attraction in itself - and not just for children. But there are also many other beautiful places to discover in the **Franconian lake district **around the Brombachsee. A popular destination for families is the Langlau leisure centre on the southern shore of the small Brombachsee lake. Another idyllic place - not just for camping - is Absberg, which invites you to take long walks in its beautiful surroundings. And if you want a bit of culture on your camping holiday, you should definitely pay a visit to the pretty town of Weißenburg.
Langlau on the southern shore of the Kleiner Brombachsee lake is one of the region's tourist centres. In addition to the beautiful lakeside campsite, there are sandy beaches, boat hire, a sailing school, children's playgrounds and sunbathing lawns on the shores of the lake. The village has always been one of the region's recreational spots, with several springs supporting the municipality's health claims.
If you want to add a little culture to your nature holiday, you should visit Weißenburg. The Gothic-style town hall and the Ellinger Tor gate are also interesting historical documents of the town.

If you have a little more time and would like to explore the south of Germany further, you can explore Bavaria by motorhome. A great route starts in Munich and leads past castles, monasteries and impressive nature to some of the most beautiful places in southern Germany. In addition to detours into the impressive mountain world of the Zugspitzarena, the route also passes through the picturesque Allgäu and the dreamlike Werdenfelser Land. The tour ends in the idyllic little town of Lindau on the shores of Lake Constance. A real dream tour and probably one of the most beautiful camping routes in Germany!
