Located south-east of Berlin, Lake Schwielochsee boasts a diverse flora and fauna. Holidaymakers can take a walk with their dog from the campsite at Schwielochsee near the reed belt. Active guests, on the other hand, can take advantage of the numerous water sports facilities. Families with children can have fun on the numerous playgrounds or at the idyllic bathing spots with man-made sandy beaches.

The site near Niewisch specialises in families and impresses with direct access to the water and its own playground. There is a boat landing stage at the animal-friendly site in Jessern, from where you can take the bicycle ferry to Zaue or Speichrow. One of the most popular campsites on Lake Schwielochsee for water sports enthusiasts is the one in Zaue. Guests can hire a pedal boat or rowing boat here or bring their own boat. You can even sail across the Oder to the Baltic Sea. Those who prefer solid ground under their feet can use the popular circular cycle path.
In the winter months, the temperature in the Berlin Lake District often drops to below 0 degrees Celsius. Most frosty days are recorded in December and January. The water is at its warmest in July and August at around 23 degrees Celsius.
