Many of them are located in the immediate vicinity of the long North Sea beach for which the town is so famous. As is usual in Holland, the facilities at the campsites are very good. Below we present 5 campsites in Noordwijk that we particularly liked. These campsites are characterised by good service, a beautiful location and excellent value for money.
Small and quiet campsite with very clean sanitary facilities. The pitches are south-facing and have electricity, water, drainage and TV connections. Mobile homes are also available for hire. The location is perfect for beach hikes and long walks in the dunes.
This beautiful and well-kept campsite is located right next to the Hollands Duin hiking area. The beach is about 10 minutes away, and you can go shopping in the centre of Noordwijk, about 4 km away. There is a sports field and a children's playground on the site, and free WLAN is also available.
This holiday home village near the beach is also part of the Duinpan campsite. The luxury bungalows leave nothing to be desired: Over 100 m² of living space on two floors, a fully equipped kitchen as well as a large garden and a furnished terrace ensure a holiday feeling and pure relaxation.
Beautifully situated campsite right by the sea in a nature reserve in the dunes near Katwijk. The sanitary facilities are not quite up to date, but the showers are free. Fresh bread rolls are available every morning from 8.00 am, and there is a supermarket for everything else. Dogs are expressly not allowed here, which could be a real plus point for some campers.
The ideal campsite for families who want to relax between the beach, woods and flower fields. The heated sanitary facilities on the site are well maintained, the pitches have electricity and water connections as well as cable TV and free Wi-Fi. A bouncy castle is inflated for children in summer and there is also an extensive entertainment programme. Dogs are also not permitted here.
Noordwijk is the secret dog paradise in South Holland. With a few exceptions, dogs are welcome on the municipality's 13-kilometre-long beach all year round. In the high season from 1 June to 31 August, dogs must be kept on a lead, but from 1 September, dogs are allowed to run around on the beach and dunes without a lead. Noordwijk's dog beach is located at beach access 1 in a southerly direction to the border with the neighbouring municipality of Katwijk. Dogs are allowed to run around freely off the lead and go into the water here all year round. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in front of the two promenades in high season. Specifically, this applies to these sections of the beach: - On the beach in front of the two promenades between beach access 1 and 21 - On beach accesses 2 to 20 and on the footpath on the dyke in the dunes - On the terraces and in the beach restaurants between beach access 1 and 21

Noordwijk is an excellent holiday destination for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts. Cycling and hiking excursions in the surrounding area are also well worthwhile. Here are some tips for leisure activities.
13 kilometres of the most beautiful white beach stretches out in front of Noordwijk and is regularly awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness. The beach restaurants and pavilions with bar service invite you to relax. Local operators also organise unusual activities such as surf rafting. There are two designated beaches for nudists.
Lovers of wind-dependent sports will get their money's worth in the stable sea breezes. Numerous providers take leisure-oriented guests kitesurfing and surfing. You are not only pulled across the water on a kite, but also across empty stretches of beach. Sailors can conquer the North Sea from nearby Katwijk aan Zee.
A well-known cycle route is the approximately 40 km long tour through the Bollenstreek, which takes you past the world-famous tulip fields of Noordwijk and includes a stopover at the Keukenhof with over 7 million planted flower bulbs. The route is approximately 45 kilometres long and leads along the dunes to the seaside resort of Zandvoort and back through the hinterland.
Even if you prefer to cater for yourself from your camping kitchen, you should make a detour to one of the surrounding restaurants. It's definitely worth it, especially as Noordwijk's geographical location by the sea is reflected on the menu, with seasonal dishes such as mussels cooked in white wine. Another classic is North Sea crab, which can be enjoyed in a cosy beach chair with a view of the sea. A number of stalls in Noordwijk also offer delicious matjes canapés. Other snacks known throughout Europe include double-fried chips, minced meat rolls called frikandels and Dutch croquettes with various fillings. Due to the country's colonial history, there are also a number of restaurants in the Netherlands that spoil their guests with Indonesian and Surinamese cuisine.
The months between June and August are the best time for a camping holiday on the beach. The temperatures on the coast of Noordwijk are then pleasantly warm for swimming in the North Sea. On land, the average daily temperature rises to around 22 degrees Celsius. At midday, the mercury often shows even higher temperatures - but there is usually a light sea breeze, so it never gets uncomfortable.
The North Sea warms up to around 19 degrees Celsius during this time and is ideal for swimming and numerous water sports activities. Sailors, surfers and kiters are also drawn to Noordwijk in spring and autumn due to the good wind conditions. Travelling in April is popular not least because it is the month with the least rainfall of the year. From November to April, it is significantly cooler on the coast. Daytime temperatures then range between 4 and 9 degrees Celsius.
