The charming fishing village of Cambrils on the Spanish Costa Daurada has retained its original character and is a popular holiday destination for campers in Catalonia. Families enjoy the gently sloping sandy beaches along the 7-kilometre-long coastline, and there are also a number of theme and leisure parks nearby. Those interested in culture will enjoy excursions from the campsites in Cambrils to the charming city of Tarragona with its imposing cathedral.
Camping in Cambrils means camping by the sea. The majority of the campsites are located directly on the beach - the water is usually just a few steps away. Cambrils has a total of 7 kilometres of coastline with sandy beaches. The coast is divided into 9 sections.
Families like to opt for campsites on the 1 km long Playa de la Llosa to the west of the centre, where the water is calm and the beach slopes gently. One popular site is Camping La Llosa, which is just 50 metres from the beach.
Some campsites are located close to the town centre, such as the popular Camping Platja Cambrils holiday park. From here you can easily reach the sights, the harbour and the many shops and restaurants on foot. Those looking for refreshment and relaxation can retreat to the city beach Playa de la Riera.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, the campsites to the east of Cambrils are ideal. Playa de Vilafortuny, which is around 75 metres wide, is relatively quiet and, like other stretches of coastline in your holiday region, has been awarded the Blue Flag.

In addition to pitches for motorhomes and mobile homes, there are also pretty wooden bungalows. The supermarket provides food supplies, while children can enjoy the children's playground, the multi-sports field and the table tennis tables. In summer there is children's entertainment and other events.
Just 200 metres from the popular water sports beach Playa de l'Esquirol is this modern holiday park with pitches in 4 sizes. There are also bungalows, two swimming pools with water slides, a large sports area and a well-stocked supermarket.
One of the most popular campsites in Cambrils with a huge range of leisure activities. The highlight is the spacious pool area with numerous swimming pools, water slides, whirlpools and a waterfall. The beach is just 200 metres from the campsite and the Port Aventura theme park is also nearby.
Cambrils is easily accessible by motorhome. However, you should allow about 2 days for the 1500 km journey. The route runs south-west from Germany and first passes through Luxembourg. Then head south and cross France.
From Lyon, head south and keep to the Mediterranean coast until you finally reach Barcelona. From there it is only a short distance to Cambrils. Please note: In Spain and France, tolls are charged for using the motorways.

There are a total of 9 stretches of beach along the approximately 7 km long coastline of Cambrils. The beaches are mostly very shallow and therefore ideal for families with children. The main beach, Playa del Reguenal, is located directly on the beach promenade and is just a stone's throw from the town centre. The beaches Playa de Vilafortuny and Playa Cap de Sant Pere are a little more tranquil. Playa de l'Esquirol is very popular with water sports enthusiasts.
Tarragona is one of the most popular excursion destinations on the Gold Coast and boasts a number of cultural sights and many buildings dating back to Roman times. You can visit historic sites such as the amphitheatre and the Roman Forum on a stroll through the ancient alleyways. The 12th century cathedral is also well worth a visit.

The climate in Cambrils is characterised by a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. At the start of the camping season in March and April, it is relatively warm at up to 21 degrees Celsius, but there is also above-average rainfall.
Perfect conditions for a beach holiday prevail from June to September. With warm to hot temperatures of 27 to 30 degrees Celsius and up to 10 hours of sunshine a day, you can take advantage of the water sports on offer or relax on the golden-coloured beach. The water temperature reaches 25 degrees Celsius in midsummer. Even in October you can still swim in the 21 degree Celsius sea.
