Journey

Most campers travel to the northern Spanish Mediterranean coast by car, motorhome or caravan. From Hamburg to Malgrad de Mar, for example, the journey is around 1,720 kilometres. From Berlin it is around 1,810 km, from Frankfurt am Main 1,280 km and from Munich 1,312 km. Different routes are prioritised depending on the place of departure.

  • St John's bonfire. The festivities in honour of Saint John begin on the evening of 23 June. A typical dessert created for the event is La Coca de Sant Joan. The highlight of the celebration, however, is the colourful firework display.

  • Summer market. On Avenida Bon Pastor, not only do artists offer their crafts, but there is also an entertaining children's programme. Of course, there is also delicious food and an exuberant atmosphere.

  • Acrobatics. Various teams from the area take part in the Els Castellers competition. The participants line up to form formations several metres high. The event is an exciting spectacle with plenty of thrills for the audience and participants.

October

  • Music festival: Various bands, bands and folk music groups take part in the event. The concerts take place outdoors against a historical backdrop. The parades of brass bands are also well worth seeing

Gastronomy

Malgrat de Mar's cuisine is characterised by its proximity to the sea, which means that fresh fish and seafood feature heavily on the menu. The region around Malgrat de Mar is characterised by a Mediterranean climate. The weather is generally warm and temperate. In summer, temperatures are very pleasant and rarely exceed 30 degrees. The warmest month is July with a maximum of around 28 degrees Celsius and around 10 hours of sunshine.

The sea has the highest water temperatures at around 24 degrees Celsius in August. But even in September and October, temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius and above are perfect for swimming. Outdoor sports enthusiasts love to come to the Costa Brava in spring and autumn. The thermometer climbs to around 15 degrees Celsius - ideal conditions for a cycling or trekking tour. Even in winter, the thermometer only drops below 8 degrees Celsius in exceptional cases
