From the charming town of Merano, where the Mediterranean climate allows rare almond and chestnut trees to blossom, to the high alpine terrain of the Dolomites, South Tyrol's scenic diversity extends. The well-developed network of trails covers an incredible 13,000 kilometres. There is a choice of family-friendly tours along picturesque lakes and challenging routes for summiteers. Mountain bikers are also drawn to the mountains at the 5-star campsite in South Tyrol.

On a trip to Merano/Meran, guests can experience a cultural city with numerous parks and a Mediterranean climate. The town's landmark is the parish church of St. Nicholas, whose 78 metre high tower can be seen from afar. Those interested in history are in the right place at the Palais Maming Museum. On the eastern outskirts of the city, Schloss Trautmannsdorf is located in the centre of the beautiful botanical gardens.
