Fantastic dune landscapes, the Wadden Sea and salty-fresh air - all this awaits holidaymakers on naturist camping on the North Sea. Enjoy the cool North Sea waves without swimwear and practise naturism right by the sea - there are numerous beaches for naturists on the North Sea islands of Sylt, Föhr, Amrum and Nordstrand.

Textile-free in thermal baths and between dunes

  • The island of Amrum is home to a very special naturist campsite on the North Sea. Here, naturists can camp in the middle of a dreamlike dune landscape in the immediate vicinity of the Amrum lighthouse. For unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, campers are best advised to reserve a pitch right by the sea.
  • Nudist fans should not miss out on the Dünen-Therme in St. Peter-Ording. Thanks to the numerous beauty and wellness offers, holidaymakers can pamper themselves from head to toe. Once a month, the sauna night is held here until 1:00 a.m., when the bathing area can also be used textile-free from 9:00 p.m. onwards.
  • If you are travelling with the family, there are numerous adventure pools along the North Sea coast. The Center Parc Nordseeküste Tossens, for example, is a popular destination with a wave pool with a shallow beach entrance, slides and water-spouting figures.

Romantic hikes and cycle tours

Whether hiking through the Wadden Sea, cycling in the Südermarsch or kitesurfing - the North Sea offers numerous leisure activities.

Discovery tours in the Wadden Sea

The Wadden Sea National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and never fails to enchant. When the North Sea recedes at low tide, it is possible to walk directly on the seabed and observe small shrimps and hermit crabs. In some places, holidaymakers can even walk to the offshore islands with almost dry feet.

Cycle tour along the idyllic North Sea coast

The Südermarsch region offers endless expanses and tranquillity. The best way to explore the marshy landscape is by bike. Südermarsch is one of the most sparsely populated communities in Schleswig-Holstein and promises peace and relaxation. Of course, you can also go hiking, horse riding or inline skating here.

Kitesurfing on Langeoog

The North Sea island of Langeoog is a true paradise for kitesurfers. A 141-hectare kite zone stretches along the western edge of the island, offering plenty of space to let off steam in the air and in the water. The local kite school offers courses for beginners and advanced kiters as well as equipment. The area is ideal for beginners, as the zone is protected by a sandbank and therefore the waves are not too big.

A short trip to Hamburg

A popular excursion destination near the North Sea is of course the famous Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Numerous sights such as the Speicherstadt warehouse district or the Reeperbahn are lined up here. A top attraction both from the outside and the inside is the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, which impresses with its unique architecture and acoustics. Numerous concerts and events take place here.

Events

Whether on the mainland or the islands, guests can look forward to many exciting events on the North Sea throughout the calendar year. From culinary delights to music, there is plenty on offer.

May - July

  • North Frisian Lamb Days: The tender meat of the salt marsh lambs is one of North Frisia's specialities. Holidaymakers can sample this delicacy at an event centred around the white dyke dwellers.

July

  • Börtebootregatta on Heligoland: an exciting competition on the North Sea in which Heligoland Börteboats race each other. Guests on board are very welcome and there is a big party afterwards.

August

  • Jazz goes Föhr: jazz musicians from all over the world perform at the renowned jazz festival and get Föhr swinging.
  • Kite festival and German stunt kite flying championship: In St. Peter-Ording, numerous kite flyers from all over Germany let their colourful kites soar - an impressive show with colourful works of art on the 12-kilometre-long sandy beach.
