If you want to spend a varied family and beach holiday in Bavaria, a campsite on the beach in Waging am See is just the place for you. Active holidaymakers can explore the 6 km stretch of water, which is nestled in a gently rolling landscape, by sailing or surfing. The 28 km circular hiking trail, which leads through the unspoilt reed belt, is ideal for long walks.
Lake Waginger See in Upper Bavaria is an Eldorado for active holidaymakers and families.
The picturesque village of Waging am See with its historic town centre is an Eldorado for families. Ideal conditions for a beach holiday prevail in July and August. Many campsites offer direct access to the lake. However, fun is also guaranteed at the lidos. The Strandkurhaus Waging, for example, has a 2 km long pebble beach and an attractive water park for children. While parents relax on the well-maintained sunbathing lawns, children can enjoy the range of games on offer. Those looking for a change from swimming in the clear waters can go on an exciting hike - accompanied by goats, for example. The tame animals can be led on a lead by the youngest guests. Together, you walk through the cool forest over tree trunks and past lush meadows. At the end of the 1.5-hour tour, young and old can fortify themselves with regional goat's milk products such as cheese, milk and yoghurt.
Lake Waginger See is not only a paradise for swimmers, water sports enthusiasts also feel completely in their element here. The sailing schools are the place to go if you want to take a course or hire a boat. Easily manoeuvrable dinghies are available for young sailors. Advanced sailors can explore the waters on a catamaran. Those who enjoy surfing can hire the necessary equipment at Waginger See or whizz through the waves on a board they have brought with them. On land, ambitious surfers can discover the charming holiday region on the 28 km circular trail around Waginger See and Tachinger See. The route leads past romantic chapels and through forests and the natural reed belt. On the guided farm shop cycle tour, on the other hand, guests get to know the holiday region from a culinary perspective. On the 30-kilometre tour, participants visit an organic dairy goat farm, a vegetable farmer and the Aichermühle.
The varied programme of events in Waging am See attracts sports enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
