Located in the north-west of Croatia, the beautiful Lika-Senj region welcomes its guests. With its unique location both on the Adriatic Sea and in the mountains, it attracts numerous caravanners and motorhome drivers year after year. Families can expect many campsites by the sea with child-friendly facilities. Four-legged friends are also often welcome.
Lika-Senj County covers the southern part of the picturesque Croatian coastline. It stretches from the northern Adriatic Sea and ends at the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina in the east. Towns and villages such as Pag, Novalja and Senj are located in the region.
Passionate climbers can look forward to the Paklenica National Park, among others. Those who enjoy visiting naturally beautiful landscapes will be happy in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, which impresses with its enchanting waterfalls and cascading lakes.
Most of the campsites in Lika-Senj are located along the coastal areas and pebble beaches of the county. However, some are also located inland, embedded in Mediterranean vegetation and rugged mountain landscapes.
The best time to go camping in Lika-Senj is between May and October. Guests can expect temperatures above 30 degrees in the high season, i.e. in July and August. The Adriatic Sea attracts visitors in summer with water temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius and therefore offers ideal conditions for swimming fans.
Those who would like to explore the region's well-developed cycling and hiking network should plan their stay in Lika-Senj in spring or autumn. Active holidaymakers benefit from pleasant temperatures between 21 and 22 degrees Celsius - perfect for long tours in the Mediterranean landscape. Afterwards, the sea invites you to cool off with a refreshing 20 degrees Celsius.
