When glamping in the Mecklenburg Lake District, holiday guests stay in luxurious rental accommodation, such as exclusive fully-equipped caravans, chic wooden cabins or mobile homes. These are glamorously designed and yet exude the charm of a genuine nature holiday. Right on the doorstep, exciting scenic formations such as the Müritz await guests.
The Müritz is particularly popular for glamping. Germany's second largest lake is over 112 square kilometres in size and offers the best opportunities for swimming, sailing and rowing in many places. Idyllic woodland stretches out around the lake, in the midst of which you can always find high-quality campsites with modern luxury accommodation.
Some of the most important towns near which you can enjoy luxury camping in the Mecklenburg Lake District are Waren, Rechlin, Röbel and Priborn. In addition to the Müritz, there are of course many other places that are suitable for glamping.
How about an overnight stay in a chic mobile home on Lake Zierker or Lake Schwerin, for example? The Kölpinsee, the Krakower See and the Tollensesee at the gates of the rowing paradise Neubrandenburg also offer good conditions for combining a holiday with nature and water sports. Or could safari tents on the Mecklenburg Lake District perhaps be that certain something for a holiday with the family? Such options can be found on Lake Plau, for example.
Smaller bodies of water such as Jamelsee or Blanksee are particularly popular for glamping in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Holidaymakers are also drawn to the Müritz and Lake Plau.
The Hexenwäldchen at the small Jamelsee lake is a fairytale-like, playful place. Here you can spend the night in a pleasantly secluded spot in the Havel flow area to the west of Neustrelitz. The site can be reached via Userin on a small country road and is very peaceful. In the middle of the forest, the petting zoo and the wooden sculptures from various fairy tales provide pure excitement for the children.
This campsite is located in the middle of nature off the B191 and just a few kilometres south of Lübz. It is a comparatively small site directly on the banks of the tranquil, peaceful lake. Glamping accommodation in the Mecklenburg Lake District includes, for example, holiday homes made of stone and wood. Guests can also rent a caravan or tents. Facilities include a kitchen, shower, WC and sometimes also a dishwasher and television.
The campsite is located on the eastern shore of Lake Plau and can be reached relatively quickly via the nearby A19 motorway near Malchow. Highlights include the rustic Scandinavian-style log cabins with dining areas, TV and much more. The sleeping barrels and stylish safari tents are also popular. Here you can get particularly close to nature, but can also look forward to a comfortable 25m² interior as well as comfort extras such as a kitchen, TV corner and bunk beds for up to three children.
The Müritz and Lake Schwerin in particular are among the most popular destinations in the Mecklenburg Lake District. In Dargun, on the other hand, you can visit historic monastery walls.
Waren an der Müritz is probably the best-known holiday and spa resort in the Mecklenburg Lake District. It is located directly on the largest lake in the region and offers good opportunities for a sailing trip from the marina. If you want to find out more about the region's nature, visit the Müritzeum, a series of aquariums where you can marvel at the entire diversity of fish life in German inland waters. We also recommend a visit to the brick-built St George's Church.
Anyone opting for a glamping holiday in the northern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District should definitely visit Lake Schwerin and Schwerin Castle on a small island. Boat trips to Paulsdammgraben and Ziegelwerder Island are also worthwhile. Another highlight is Wiligrad Castle with its parks.
The small municipality of Dargun is known far beyond the Mecklenburg Lake District for its historic monastery. The former spiritual complex was later transformed into Dargun Castle - the monastery church has been preserved from its time as a place of worship. A walk through the adjoining park is also a pleasant experience.
