GoodIncluding the islands, Croatia offers around 6,000 kilometres of coastline. The Mediterranean coastline is famous for its varied landscape: romantic sandy bays alternate with rugged cliffs. Those interested in culture can admire historical sites such as the famous amphitheatre of Pula from antiquity at a 5-star campsite in Croatia. The water-rich Krka National Park and the densely forested island of Brac in Dalmatia are perfect for hiking.
Whether hiking in the fascinating national parks, sightseeing or swimming in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, Croatia is perfect for every holiday requirement.
A luxury campsite in Croatia's Dalmatia region is ideal for discovering the country's sights. The 3,000-year-old city of Zadar, for example, enchants visitors with numerous relics from the past. On a walk across the Roman Forum, visitors can admire the remains of the once mighty columned hall from the 3rd century, while an example of contemporary architecture awaits just a few steps further on in the form of the Sea Organ. The staircase-like construction has been fitted with numerous tubes with integrated pipes, which create a special sound experience when the waves crash against them. Ancient sites can also be found in Istria, especially in the capital Pula. Here, the Temple of Augustus and the ancient double gate are reminiscent of days gone by. Pass through the famous Sergian Arch into the city's pedestrian zone, where numerous shops offer the opportunity to buy a souvenir.
From the end of May until late autumn, mild temperatures attract swimmers to the ADAC Super Spots in Croatia. Favourite destinations for families are Istria and the region around Nin in Dalmatia, where there are several shallow and fine sand and pebble beaches. Due to the excellent water quality, many stretches of coastline are regularly awarded the coveted Blue Flag. But a campsite in Croatia is not only an ideal base for swimming. There are also perfect conditions for water sports enthusiasts. The country's fascinating island world can be discovered particularly well from a sailing boat. Windsurfers and kitesurfers are also drawn to the coast of Istria or Dalmatia, where they can find well-known surf spots around Nin and Medulin, among others. And off Rovinj in Istria, divers can visit the sunken passenger ship Baron Gautsch, for example, while Kvarner Bay is known for its mystical underwater caves.
From medieval festivals to children's festivals, Croatia has attractive events to suit every taste.
